Privacy
The short version: the dates you type are converted in your browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. We count visits with cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics. There are no ads.
The dates you enter
Everything the converter does — reading what you type, validating it, converting it and formatting the result — happens in JavaScript running in your browser. Typing, pasting, copying or picking a date sends no network request. You can check this yourself in your browser’s developer tools: the Network tab stays quiet while you convert.
Dates never appear in the page address unless you deliberately create a share link (see below). The converter doesn’t log errors or usage, and nothing you type is ever passed to analytics.
Recent conversions
The “Recent conversions” list is stored in your browser’s session storage for this site, and nowhere else. In practice:
- it survives reloading the page and moving between pages in the same tab;
- it is copied if you duplicate the tab, and may be restored if your browser reopens closed tabs or a previous session;
- it is discarded when that tab’s session ends;
- you can remove a single entry or press Clear all at any time.
To keep your place when you reload or switch language, the converter also remembers the date currently shown in the same session storage. Clearing your history clears that too.
Preferences
If you choose a colour theme or a language, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site can remember it next time. It contains only words such as “light”, “dark”, “en” or “fa”. ShamsiDate sets no cookies.
Share links
If you press Share link, ShamsiDate creates a link that contains the selected date after a # sign — for example /en/#j=1405-08-10. Browsers don’t send the part after # to the server when the link is opened, but please keep in mind that:
- anyone you send the link to can see the date;
- the link may be saved in your browser history and in the history of whoever opens it;
- the app you share it through (email, messaging and so on) may store it.
When a shared link is opened, the date is loaded into the converter and removed from the address bar.
Offline support
After your first visit, the site’s own files (pages, styles, scripts, fonts) are cached by your browser so the converter can work without a connection. The cache contains no personal information and no dates you have entered.
What our hosting provider sees
ShamsiDate is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any website, loading a page involves ordinary network requests, and Cloudflare processes standard technical data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the requested address and the time, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Those requests never contain the dates you convert. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies in some situations. Cloudflare’s handling of this data is described in its privacy policy.
Analytics
ShamsiDate counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by our hosting company. It works without cookies and without browser storage, and it doesn’t follow you across sites. When a page loads, a small Cloudflare script reports the page address, the referring site, your browser and device type, the country derived from your IP address, and page-speed measurements. Cloudflare doesn’t use this to build a profile of you, and it never receives the dates you type or anything else you enter on the site. Because it sets no cookies, there is no consent notice. Cloudflare describes this service in its Web Analytics privacy information and its privacy policy.
Contact form
If you send us a message through the contact page, the form sends your name (optional), email address, topic and message to Web3Forms, which delivers it to us by email. We use it only to read and answer your message, never for marketing, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. Ask us through the same form if you want a message deleted sooner.
No advertising or tracking
There is no advertising, no social-media widgets, no session replay and no third-party script other than Cloudflare’s analytics beacon. Fonts and images are served from shamsidate.com itself.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date below it.
